There are some basic programs and trainings that are required. In addition to the basics depends on what extra exposures or hazards exist in the workplace. 

 

The basic written programs that OSHA looks for in a business compliant with OSHA 29CFR1910 (General Industry) are:

• Hazardous Communications- GHS

• Fire Extinguisher Awareness

• Job Hazards Analysis

• Contingency Planning (Emergency Response)

• First Aid Plan

• Hazards Recognition(Slip,Trips & Falls)

• Personal Protective Equipment

• A Written Workplace Safety Program

• Blood born pathogen program (First aiders). 

• SCBA use training

 

Exposure Specific topics:

 

• Hearing Conservation Program

• Lead Exposure Control Plan

• Silica/Dust Exposure Control Program

• Respirator Use Program,

• Chemical Awareness (based on specific chemical hazards)

• Chemical Spill Plan

• Spill Response Plan (hazardous waste)

• Hazardous Waste Handling (RCRA).

• Lock out Tag out

• Maching guarding
